The principals, who have significant operating experience, seek companies with strong management who they can partner with to assist them to create value by leveraging the resources and experience of AAI's principals and affiliates.
AAI will usually purchase a majority equity stake in the company while offering existing and/or proven management equity positions and long term employment. However, in the absence of appropriate in-house management candidates AAI will team up with industry specialists or entrepreneurial investors to complete the acquisition.
AAI provides active, on going financial, management and marketing oversight support to assist the management in both the daily operations as well as enhancing the long-term value of the company.
The principals take a long view of each investment with no defined exit time period but a strong likelihood of an exit within a 5-7 year period. AAI professionals have had great success partnering with management and view that process as the single most important element of the future success of the investment.
